Businesses are faced daily with a constant onslaught of spam, which if not managed correctly, can cause a major strain to its resources – both financial and human. IT departments already have enough to contend with, without the worry of spam having the potential to wreak havoc across their network.
To add to this, there is a growing need for a business to have effective email archiving systems in place. Factors including business continuity planning, law requirements such as the data protection act 1998 and the increased ‘best practice’ approach of securely storing all company emails have led to this move towards email archiving.
To help contend with these factors, companies are now turning to hosted email security services that are safely managed offsite. Traditionally this has typically been the choice of small to medium businesses; however, as spam rates continue to grow, larger companies have also turned to outsourcing their email management security.
At Message Stream, we offer the complete hosted email management service that successfully shields your business against any email risk. Our leading anti spam service provides accurate filtering of spam, junk mail and viruses, whilst our secure archiving system then stores every one of your business emails – all done safely offsite. There is no expensive software to install and it can easily work with any mail server. You also get access to your own browser interface – myMessage Stream, providing up to date email reporting, analysis and end user statistics. So give your business the security it deserves.

These days, it is virtually a given that businesses need to tackle the problem of spam. Aside from spam being a major nuisance, there is also the threat of viruses, phishing activities and the potential to damage whole server systems that a business now risks facing.
Fortunately, today there are innovative anti spam detection services that can solve this problem. Anti spam protection offers a whole host of services including spam filtering and spam blocking. But what is the difference between the two?
Spam filtering is the process of organising and quarantining junk mail into special folders whilst still allowing you access to these messages. A spam blocker on the other hand detects junk mail and potential viruses that attempt to enter your network and deletes it before you even have to see it.
A spam filter is often favoured by those who want the option of viewing any email their network receives. A spam blocker suits those who do not want to have the hassle of dealing with spam, and so these emails are deleted before even entering the domain.
We at Message Stream offer the complete hosted anti spam service that includes advanced spam blocking and filtering. In fact, our anti spam protection is so thorough it can reduce junk mail by 99%, with our antivirus protection preventing any hint of viruses from wreaking havoc across your network. It can be easily added to your existing mail server so requires very little maintenance on your part. We help you tackle spam head on – making your life easier.

Spam is on the increase, and continues to be a huge problem for many individuals who rely on email to operate. As email is a low cost method of communication, it is acceptable for many to send out emails promoting goods to huge numbers of recipients, in the hope that some will click on links in the body of the email, or respond to them. There are some people who will make purchases from this type of email, and therefore makes it worthwhile.
Spam can be relatively harmless, and a percentage is just a form of direct marketing to promote websites or products for sale. However, this is still a large drain on resources for many companies, as employees spend time sifting through junk emails.
There is another type of spam called Phishing, which is when your personal details are at risk. Senders of these emails are trying to obtain your confidential information – such as bank account details, date of birth and more – to steal your identity. Other scam emails will contain viruses or spy ware which, when the link is clicked on, will spread to other users. For a business which holds confidential information, and also depends upon its email services to keep the business running, these types of email are particularly dangerous.
Here at MessageStream, we can supply an advanced form of protection through the use of spam services. These will block junk email before it reaches your inbox, leaving your employees to tackle their workload for the day without interruption.

Spam can vary from an unscrupulous marketer promoting products to recipients without permission, in the hope of making a few sales, to an email that contains a harmful virus or phishing scam. This is the practice of obtaining personal information – such as credit card details, bank account details and much more personal information – for misuse. This is often done by including links for you to provide details when making a purchase, or any other transaction under false pretences. Many people don’t think that they would be caught out by a scammer, but identity theft, through the practice of Phishing, is on the increase.
Spam emails can include malware, which are harmful computer viruses and spyware which will infiltrate your computer and possibly compromise your personal details. You can download a virus without even realising, just by clicking on a link in a junk email. For a company, this is a particular danger, as they have a responsibility to keep personnel and clients’ confidential information secure. A harmful virus on the business system can cause the personal information to be used by a third party.
Businesses have a huge responsibility not only in terms of security but also in keeping costs as low as possible, which isn’t easy when you have a problem with spam. Outsourcing the control of spam emails is advisable to a company who will deal with the problem in a cost effective manner, with no disruption to your business. Here at MessageStream, we can eradicate all spam in a low cost and secure manner.

Many of the emails that you receive – advertising miracle products or services that you can’t manage without – are spam. The individual, or organisation, that sent the junk email will not have permission to send it. These types of email are not damaging to individuals, but are annoying, and many will not even be looked at. For a business though, the cost of employees scanning through junk emails searching for legitimate emails will be high. Although these emails are not usually responded to (or even looked at), the senders regard this spam as an opportunity to make profit from the small minority that will purchase the product advertised.
Scammers are often trying to con email recipients, either by selling you a product, which is either unfit for its purpose or which is never delivered. There will be no address or contact details for you to request your money back. You may even purchase a product that never arrives, only to find that the scammer has used your credit card details, or other confidential information.
Many individuals who start online businesses can easily fall prey to scams, losing money along the way as well as risking complaints from email recipients. The recommended course of action, is not to open emails that you have not requested or do not recognise. For a business, this isn’t always the best approach, as they will receive many emails throughout the course of a day. For companies, a hosted spam service like MessageStream is the most cost effective, and secure, course of action.

It is no surprise that as spam has become a large problem for many individuals and businesses, with a huge cost to many that the United States of America have introduced the CAN-SPAM Act, which is “Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing.” This Act was introduced in 2004, to give guidelines for the senders and content of emails being issued, set out penalties for spammers and give a recipient the right to ask the senders of emails to stop spamming them.
The law was introduced to cover the promotion and advertising of products, websites and services. The law doesn’t cover emails that are being sent with the recipient’s prior consent, or where a business relationship is in existence, such as updates to a previous customer of a business. If emails that are sent – even with prior permission – contain false or misleading information, the Act will apply.
There are many rules to follow in the sending of emails, and it is important that they are followed to avoid being in violation of the law. All emails must contain the postal address of the sender, with a clear opt out method. The subject line of emails cannot be misleading, or include false information to entice you to open the email, which is a common ploy by spammers.
There are many requirements for legitimate emails, although the existence of spam and junk emails will still be a problem for many. To eradicate spam, it is advisable to employ spam services, such as the hosted service here at MessageStream, which is a cost effective and secure option for your business.

Anyone who receives huge amounts of junk mail, each day, will be aware of the inconvenience and time-wasting they cause to companies all over the world, each and every day. Additionally, they can cause untold damage to business records, lost data and financial loss, as well as the time spent trying to fight the plague of spam. Spam can be received in many forms, such as direct mail and telephone calls, which are annoying but don’t seem to cause as much inconvenience as spam emails.
As many companies rely upon a good email service to manage various aspects of their business, they rely upon a secure service which is streamlined in order to be cost-effective. Junk email disrupts this system and loses a company valuable time whilst trying to address the problem. If an employee has to wade through emails looking for spam, they will be wasting hours each day, rather than performing more productive tasks.
Spam filters and blockers are usually supplied by an email provider, but the spammers continually work to find ways around these deterrents, causing risk of damage to your system – and therefore your business. A Company such as ours at MessageStream will tackle the problem of spam, whilst enabling you to archive emails for easy retrieval, and also provide a back up service for your emails. Many companies rely upon email for their communication and not being able to send or receive emails will not only affect business but will present an unprofessional image to important clients.

Spam is a problem faced by many Internet users, such as individuals and companies who rely on email to manage their business on a daily basis. For a company who has details of purchases, stock inventory, confidential information of customers and clients, junk email can be a danger to the security of the business and its database.
There are some ways to prevent spam, although it is extremely difficult to prevent unless you employ anti spam services such as ours at MessageStream. We can prevent junk mail without interrupting your daily influx of emails, so that you can continue to manage your business without ever having to be involved with spam emails.
When you receive a spam email, don’t reply to it or click on any links within the email itself. You could be downloading spy ware or viruses without being aware of it. You will occasionally receive an email with an option to ‘unsubscribe yourself’ from the list, but shouldn’t take any action as this link will possibly introduce a harmful virus to your computer. Some unscrupulous marketers still persist in using spam emails to gain business, and by replying or trying to unsubscribe you are confirming that your email is valid, which will attract more of this spam.
Previewing your messages will give you the chance to delete any emails that look suspicious, which will remove the threat of viruses. Above all, it is necessary to do as much as you can to prevent spam emails, by using the spam filters and blockers provided by your email service, but the most effective method is a spam service.

Spam emails are more prevalent in the world of cyberspace than any other form of legitimate email communication, and unfortunately, not all spam blocker technology is successful.
Spammers work hard to find new methods to penetrate spam filter, and there is a constant need for spam filter technology to stay ahead of those using the internet in an unscrupulous manner.
It is important to never open an email that is not recognised as legitimate, and even more important not to click on any internal links – or download any attachments – from a spam email because it can release viruses and phishing software into a computer system.
One of the most common ways in which people experience the loss of their private passwords, financial information, personal identification and any other critical data is when a phishing email has been clicked upon when it is received as spam in their inbox.
It is essential that spam filter software is always used, and although email account providers often supply spam filter technology, it is not always the best protection possible.
In order to get the best spam blocker protection possible, use experts who can provide the most advanced form of protection through spam services, which often means that spam is blocked before it even reaches an email system.
At Message Stream we provide optimal performance levels in the deployment of our spam service, protecting large organisations, governments and SMEs across the UK with the highest protection from spam blocker technology.

Thanks to the explosion of personal computers and broadband internet access, there has been a significant increase in online communication over the past decade or so; along with this has been a huge increase in spam.
Spam can take up so much room that often legitimate contacts can end up being blocked from contacting a person online, if their inbox is full and not regularly cleared of spam email.
Most people have some sort of spam filter service on their email account, and to a degree this will work in keeping unwanted messages from arriving into an email account inbox, but it does not completely eliminate the spam emails being received.
It is worth investing some time into looking at the spam filter technology available, to ensure that you get the best service possible; many companies who offer spam filter also offer antivirus software with it. Unfortunately, there are many companies that cannot specify how effective their anti-virus and spam blocker software actually is.
Any person who requires the best spam blocker software with anti-virus services, or indeed any business that needs to have peace of mind, that they have the best spam service and anti-virus software possible should always seek the help of external spam service companies.
We at Message Stream can reduce the amount of spam email by blocking a minimum of 98% of all spam received in an email inbox, through advanced spam filter software. We are trusted by some of the largest organisations in the UK.
