Humber Bridge Board

Humber Bridge story

The Humber Bridge The Humber Bridge is one of the North’s most significant landmarks being the fifth-largest single-span suspension bridge in the world, crossing the River Humber near Hull.

The Humber Bridge Board used a combination of Microsoft Exchange Server, an on-server spam filtering solution, and Outlook to handle their email. Even with this considerable investment, staff were still being subjected to more than 150 spam emails a day getting through to the desktops.

Neil Marshall, Business Manager of the Humber Bridge Board, explains: “Some machines were worse affected than others, with most of the junk arriving on our central email address mail@humberbridge.co.uk.

“It was troublesome for the users having to filter out the spam from the "real" emails and for me in trying to set up filters to try and block them.

We were recommended MessageStream by our IT consultant, and after a trial, stayed with it because it's very good.

“We were recommended MessageStream by our IT consultant, and after a trial, stayed with it because it's very good. Since then MessageStream has saved heaps of time for me and my colleagues.

“To be honest, we hardly know MessageStream is there, which is great. Sometimes I’m asked about emails that they haven't received and I am able to log into MessageStream to find out what happened to them.

“I think MessageStream is excellent. It just works, and is very easy to use. What’s more, I would certainly recommend it to other businesses and organisations.”
