Storetec is one company that needs little convincing of
the need to retain business documents for long periods.
That’s what Storetec does – scans and stores paper documents
for businesses.
helped reduce the load on our Exchange Server
“When we first saw MessageStream, it was a good fit for
Storetec because we understand the importance of storing
documents, both paper and electronic. The spam and virus
filtering also helped reduce the load on our Exchange Server,”
explained Sales Director David Wilkinson.
MessageStream is, amongst other things, a digital version
of what Storetec does – and the company was also quick to
see the advantages of filtering and archiving its own email.
Indeed Storetec is preparing to become a MessageStream Partner
to complement its own services.
“We know of businesses that actually print off emails to make
sure they get archived,” added David. “It makes no sense at
all, and is a complete waste of resources.”
David Wilkinson is bullish about the prospects for his company’s
service: “Companies in the past have neglected their paper archive
because it’s always been seen as too much of a problem and involved
too high a cost to contemplate dealing with. Our services allow
these issues to be dealt with in an efficient and cost-effective way.
“We see the same attitude with email archiving – it’s all too easy
to put it to the back of your mind, but businesses really can’t
afford to take these kinds of risks.”
“We previously looked at software email archiving products, but
the price was prohibitive, coupled with the overhead of maintaining
the software. MessageStream seems to just gets on with the job
of archiving our email, and we very rarely get involved in what
it’s doing. Occasionally, we’ve retrieved a document that’s been
lost – but that’s what it’s there for.”
Storetec is a fast expanding business operating throughout the UK.
Storetec works to the BSI’s BIP0008 Code of Practice for Legal
